Student Organizations

At UTSA we have several active Computer Science student organizations that organize various events and are always happy to welcome new members.

  • ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) hosts talks and presentations, and gives you the chance to compete in worldwide programming contests for students. Contact Laurence Maddox (lmaddox - AT - cs.utsa.edu) for more information, and check the ACM webpage for more information on meetings.
  • CSA (Computer Security Association) also hosts meetings, talks and presentations from researchers in the field, and cyber security contests. Contact Edward Bullard (ebullard - AT - cs.utsa.edu) for more information.
  • CSGSA (Computer Science Graduate Student Association) organizes our bi-annual department picnics, as well as other events for graduate students. Contact Keith Harrison (kharriso - AT - cs.utsa.edu) for more information.
  • UPE (Upsilon Pi Epsilon) is the first, and only, international honor society for computer science.
Several of our Chinese students are also actively involved in UTSA CSSA (UTSA's Chinese Student and Scholar Association). Contact Chengwei Lei (clei - AT - cs.utsa.edu) for more information..
