Tian chaired conferences/workshops

Dr. Qi Tian, as Associate Professor from the Department of Computer Science, has recently organized, chaired and participated in a few conferences and workshops.
- Dr. Qi Tian organized the prestigious ACM Multimedia Conference, October 19-24,2009 in Beijing, China as Program Coordinator. He was awarded a Certificate for "his contributions as Program Coordinator of Multimedia 2009" by SIGMM, and Recognition of Service Award by ACM.
- Dr. Qi Tian chaired one of the two panels at ACM Multimedia 2009 titled "Multimedia Content Analysis: Model-based Approaches vs. Data-driven Approaches". The panel consists of five distinguished professors and researchers from IBM Research, Google Research, Microsoft Research, Tsinghua University, and RutgersUniversity.
- Dr. Qi Tian chaired the ACM International Workshop on Large-scale Multimedia Retrieval and Mining (LS-MMRM) in conjunction with ACM Multimedia 2009.
- Dr. Qi Tian was a keynote speaker at International Workshop on Frontiers of Multimedia Computing at Huangshan, Anhui, China, on October 18, 2009, and was a keynote speaker at International Workshop on Large-scale Cross-Media Retrieval and Mining at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China on October 24, 2009.
