White, Sandhu ranked among the top professors in security
BackgroundChecks.org recently published a list of the "35 Best Computer Security Professors of 2013", and Dr. Greg White and Dr. Ravi Sandhu both made the list.
The article on Dr. White:
"Gregory White has carried enthusiasm for security education and research throughout an impressive career centered in the San Antonio area. During a thirty-year career with the United States Air Force, on active duty and in the reserves, Dr. White joined the faculty at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he entered the school’s Information Systems program. Early in his career at the school, he helped establish the UTSA Cyber-Security Research Center, which has celebrated a ten year anniversary to-date. The Center sponsors one of the most widely recognized cyber-security competitions for college students, designed to spark innovation and collaboration among the brightest thinkers in the computer security field."
The article on Dr. Sandhu:
"Computer security and privacy are areas that have undergone drastic transformations in the ways they are viewed. Dr. Sandhu has been a first-hand participant in the development of effective strategies for responding to emerging computer threats. His prestigious career in computer security includes over 250 published articles, written with over 100 collaborators. Dr. Sandhu is the Executive Director and Chief Scientist at University of Texas – San Antonio, where he has been employed since 2007. Previous faculty positions were held by Dr. Sandhu at Ohio State University and George Mason University. He is also active at the Institute for Cyber Security."
