Welcome

CS 1033 is a course in computer science for those who have never use a microcomputer to manipulate, present, organize, and visualize data, before, and for those who want to understand how a microcomputer works and to develop elementary microcomputer operation skills through Microsoft office tools. The specific objectives for CS 1033 are:

  • Understand computer components and how they work together to get a job done,
  • Learn to use email, and Web for correspondence, information retrieval, E-library search, multimedia, and access for course lectures, assignments, and quizzes,
  • Master the essential features of Microsoft office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, and
  • Apply the learned knowledge for daily life applications including making a resume, a PowerPoint presentation, a loan calculation, and a personal database.
