C All-in-One Desk Reference for Dummies
  • "Official" Text: Engineering Problem Solving with C, 3rd Ed., by D. Etter. 480 pages. $84.00, $69.30 at amazon.com. (Expensive and pretty much total garbage. Better not to buy it.)

  • Better and Cheaper Text: Hey, I'm serious about this, even if it sounds insulting. The book is good (5 stars on amazon.com), thorough (832 pages), and cheap ($23.09 on amazon.com). You can keep it as a reference. Any book that calls a piece of code "crap" in the first chapter is my kind of text!

  • Buying the text:
    • The "UTSA" (aka Barnes and Noble) Bookstore has its pricing policy: "We will not be oversold: If you can find it at a higher price, we'll raise our price also." It should be $35 + tax at bookstores not online.
    • Available at bookpool.com (online) for $22.50. (Oops! "Out-Of-Stock" right now.)
    • Available at Powells.com for $34.99, so screw that.
    • Available at amazon.com at $23.09, no tax or shipping. (Well, no shipping if your total order is over $25.)
