Funding Details
I am currently supporting one PhD student. I have funding for up to two
more graduate students, and one more undergraduate.
I have support for at least the next 4 years, and graduate support includes
tuition waiver, salary, and insurance.
Interviewing for Support
The best way to get a position with me is to take and do well in one of
my classes.
If you work for me, you will probably work on my open source
project,
ATLAS (or possibly my
iterative compiler, iFKO). You will do work
using unix build tools (make, shell, etc) programming primarily in C.
If you are interested, read the following two papers to get an overview of
ATLAS:
- Overview of ideas
behind ATLAS
- More recent
paper discussing some new stuff
These papers are in postscript form. You can print them using
lpr
on any unix/linux machine. They can be displayed by many programs, perhaps
the easiest is
gv.
Also, attempt to install ATLAS on a linux machine of your choice. You can
get the software here.
Once you have attempted these things, schedule an appointment with me via
e-mail, and we'll figure things out.
