I have been teaching in the Department of Computer Science, University of San Antonio, since Fall, 1999.
Prior to coming to San Antonio, I was on the faculty of Department of Mathematics and Computer Science,
University of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, from 1989 to 1999.
I received my Ph. D. and M. Sc. degrees in Computer Science from
University of Illinois at Chicago in 1988 and 1985, respectively.
I received my B. Eng. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from
中国电子科技大学University
of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 1982.
Research
My research interests are in the areas of
Database and Knowledge-base Systems, particularly in query optimization,
knowledge discovery, and data privacy. Currently,
I am working on projects in privacy-preserving
data mining and secure knowledge management.
I am also interested in XML databases, multi-media databases, and bioinformatics.
