This document's primary objective is to serve as a guide for students
taking the Parallel Computing course offered at Georgia State
University. The first section provides a basic introduction to UNIX
commands. The second section provides details of the parallel
machine to be used and the utilities available on it to
write, compile and execute a shared-memory parallel program. Suggestions for debugging
and performance tuning of parallel programs are also included.
